if you were curious

This is, in my opinion, the best thing I’ve ever drawn.

Hansel and gretel

May 15, 2012

Here’s another one.  This is my drawing from a small book of classic Grimm fairy tales that a few of us did, these two here are Hansel and Gretel.  Our goal was to focus on dark shapes and silhouettes.  Might end up redrawing the kids, They turned out a little wonky because I drew them small but for now this’ll have to do.

Hello! Its been a long semester. Im finally getting around to posting some of my finished work.  This is a mock up editorial that accompanies a piece from wired magazine you can read here. Sadly its only a school assignment.

Wet Majestic

September 9, 2011

Here’s a work in progress for a class assignment.  She’s a bit fugly but she’s due for a facelift soon.  It’s based off two words, wet and majestic.

The last two illustrations in my hamlet series.  Glad its finally over with. I tried a lot of different things throughout, some good, some bad.  The bad most likely wont find their way on here.

Hope you like

on second thought, if you wanna see the final as a whole you can download the pdf…hamlet

Ralph for Emperor

May 2, 2011

This is the final illustration of the semester for my type and image class.  This is an editorial illustration done to go along with an article titled “Ralph for Emperor,” sorry I couldn’t find the actual article online.  Basically the writer of the piece, if emperor, would smoke in the bathroom of an airplane because he saw it as one of the greatest no-no’s a person could do and would find complete satisfaction in doing so.

Hamlet, number 5

April 29, 2011

Another in the long line in the hamlet series.  This is page 5 of 6.  Not quite there, it took long enough just to get it where it is now.  Ill have to take a break from it for awhile…More of these to come soon

Hamlet Redux

April 12, 2011

Here is a recent illustration that belongs to a set of 6 images reinterpreting Shakespeare’s Hamlet, act 5 scene 2.  This is actually the second image in the series, the first doesn’t really need to be floating around the internet. It isn’t exactly done but there’s plenty more to do, it will be finished later on, hopefully.  In the next couple of weeks the rest of these pieces will show up here as well.  The page will be accompanied by the words “The two brothers were digging a grave for their neighbor’s dog, which they believed to be dead.  Little did they know, they were being watched.  Hamlet, a boy recently arrived next door was observing them closely with his bunny-friend, Horatio.”

It’s outta this world

April 8, 2011

A lot different than what I have been posting here but it turned out well enough that I thought it was blog-worthy.  It was done for a design class. The assignment was to take a local menu and reinterpret it, hopefully making an improvement.  I went cheesy diner all over this one, enjoy.

Yuki ohno!

March 30, 2011

Here’s a piece I just recently finished for class. The assignment was to illustrate a folktale and I chose the Yuki Onna.  As the story goes a beautiful woman (actually a ghost with no feet), white as snow, decides to bust open the door of the nearest cabin in the middle of the night, curiously housing two men.  She kills one and eventually has kids with the other, a typical love triangle/stalker story.  Here’s the whole Yuki Onna story if your interested.

This is the final drawing before being colored

and finally after a couple dozen sketches of scared little boys and stupid looking ghosts I finally landed here
