Dr. Spaceman

May 29, 2011

So I finally got to draw an astronaut and by accident stumbled up this color scheme, one of those happy accidents I guess.  Thank god for the insane amount of layer options in photoshop, that I have yet to fully figure out.  I had a good time drawing this one.  My first true personal piece and I think its a step up.

Astronaut Mike Dexter

May 25, 2011

Here’s a personal piece I started awhile back.  I’ve had a strange obsession with astronauts as of late and I guess it had to be done, I’m drawing one.  I am going to Amsterdam in a few days and it might have to take a seat for awhile.  Im still working out the flat colors and I have been dabbling a lot lately with overlaying textures so thats what ya see here.  Ive made it black and white, the colors are a little wild at the moment.  I hope you like, as always comments are welcome.

BIRDS!

May 23, 2011

Wasn’t too keen on this pattern when it was made but its growing on me, slowly.  I’d be interested to know if there was somewhere that took wallpaper submissions, desktop wallpaper or actual wallpaper.  If anyone knows of something I would be happy to know.  Here is the full sized wallpaper if anyone is interested. Its a beefy one, 24×36…ByrdPattern

The last two illustrations in my hamlet series.  Glad its finally over with. I tried a lot of different things throughout, some good, some bad.  The bad most likely wont find their way on here.

Hope you like

Ralph for Emperor

May 2, 2011

This is the final illustration of the semester for my type and image class.  This is an editorial illustration done to go along with an article titled “Ralph for Emperor,” sorry I couldn’t find the actual article online.  Basically the writer of the piece, if emperor, would smoke in the bathroom of an airplane because he saw it as one of the greatest no-no’s a person could do and would find complete satisfaction in doing so.
