Yuki ohno!

March 30, 2011

Here’s a piece I just recently finished for class. The assignment was to illustrate a folktale and I chose the Yuki Onna.  As the story goes a beautiful woman (actually a ghost with no feet), white as snow, decides to bust open the door of the nearest cabin in the middle of the night, curiously housing two men.  She kills one and eventually has kids with the other, a typical love triangle/stalker story.  Here’s the whole Yuki Onna story if your interested.

This is the final drawing before being colored

and finally after a couple dozen sketches of scared little boys and stupid looking ghosts I finally landed here

Three separate images accompanying the word “Grab,” one image dominant, one type dominant and one equal…the one on the right was a big hit

The full image from the previous post.  An image for class illustration 5 words beginning with the letter A. The final is of a poem combining those 5 words, 2 are obvious at least.
